Paolo Esse studies and deepens the themes of Japanese tattooing. From an early age he became a passionate fan of Japanese comics and cartoons. This marked his artistic research deeply.
Raised in the world of tattooing as a self-taught without having attended any art school, Paolo devoted himself to the study of tattoos, firstly approaching the traditional American subjects, particularly the New York school, to later head to oriental tattoo art with reference to the ukiyo-e period.
Paolo works to create a style combining his research and love for oriental culture and the powerful and simple look of traditional tattoo, trying to remain in line with tradition but at the same time to chase innovation.
